Built for hosts,
by hosts.

Everything TTSRA does is designed to make hosting in T&T more professional, more rewarding, and more recognised.

Advocacy

We represent your interests before government agencies, the TDA, the THA, and tourism policymakers — ensuring hosts have a seat at the table.

Standards & Training

Access the TTSRA Host Certification Programme, workshops on guest experience, safety compliance, pricing strategy, and legal requirements.

Tourism Partnerships

Strategic relationships with the Tobago Tourism Agency, Caribbean Tourism Organization, and Airbnb position our members as recognised partners in the sector.

Community

Connect with hosts across both islands through regional chapters, our private members' community, and the annual TTSRA Host Summit.

"To unite, support, and
elevate hosts across T&T."

We are a member-led, non-profit association — every dollar in our treasury exists to serve our membership and our islands' tourism sector.

A note on tourism ambassadorship
Every TTSRA host is a frontline representative of Trinidad and Tobago. We embrace that responsibility with pride — and we exist to make sure the world knows it.

"Tobago is not an afterthought. It is a founding pillar of this association."
TTSRA Founding Charter, 2026
Why we exist.

Short-term rental hosting has transformed the way visitors experience Trinidad and Tobago. Yet hosts have historically operated in isolation — without a unified voice, without formal representation, and without the professional resources available to larger players in the tourism sector.

TTSRA changes that. We are a member-led, non-profit association incorporated under the laws of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, bringing hosts together to advocate, to learn, to collaborate, and to be recognised.

What we stand for.
01
Two-Island Inclusion
The Tobago Chapter holds permanent Board observer status. The AGM alternates between islands. Leadership conventions protect Tobago's voice.
02
Community First
We are stronger together. Collaboration raises the standard of hospitality across both islands.
03
Professionalism
We advocate for a regulated, respected, and professional short-stay rental sector.
04
Ambassadorship
Every host is a representative of T&T. We embrace that responsibility with pride.
05
Sustainable Tourism
We are stewards of our islands. We promote practices that benefit all of T&T.
How we operate.

Member-Led Governance

The Board is elected by and accountable to the membership. No host speaks for TTSRA without a mandate from the people they represent.

Professional Credibility

We engage government ministries, the TDA, the THA, and international platforms as a serious industry partner — with evidence, not just advocacy.

Practically Useful

Resources, training, market data, and best practice toolkits that make your hosting life easier.

How we're governed.

TTSRA is a member-led organisation. Our Board of Directors is elected by members, and our four regional chapters ensure every part of both islands is represented.

Board of Directors

Five elected directors — President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Director at Large — accountable to the full membership.

Four Committees

Advocacy & Government Relations · Standards & Best Practice · Finance & Audit · Communications & Membership.

Regional Chapters

Tobago · North Trinidad · South & Central · East Trinidad — each with an elected Representative with Board observer status.

North Trinidad Chapter
Port of Spain, Diego Martin, Maraval, Arima, Chaguaramas, and surrounding northern communities — covering T&T's commercial and cultural capital.
South & Central Trinidad Chapter
San Fernando, Couva, Chaguanas, Point Fortin, Penal/Debe, and surrounding communities in T&T's industrial heartland.
East Trinidad Chapter
Sangre Grande, Toco, Manzanilla, Mayaro, and the entire Eastern coastline — one of T&T's most scenic and growing hosting regions.
What chapters mean
for members.

Regional chapters are not just geographic groupings — they are the structural foundation of TTSRA's member-led model.

Elected Representatives

Each chapter elects its own Chapter Representative, who attends Board meetings with observer status and brings local issues directly to the national Board.

Local Networking

Chapter members connect at local meetups, share regional knowledge, and support one another through shared challenges specific to their area.

AGM Rotation

The Annual General Meeting alternates between Trinidad and Tobago every year — ensuring every member can meaningfully participate in the AGM at least every other year.

Regional Data

Members receive market reports and insights specific to their chapter area — occupancy trends, pricing benchmarks, and local regulatory updates.

Five directors.
One clear mandate.

The Board is elected by voting members at the Annual General Meeting, which alternates between Trinidad and Tobago every year.

President
Chairs the Board and AGM. Serves as principal spokesperson and external representative of the Association.
Vice President
Deputises for the President. Leads advocacy work. By convention, drawn from the opposite island to the President.
Secretary
Maintains all records, minutes, and the member register. Ensures statutory compliance and manages correspondence.
Treasurer
Oversees accounts, budgets, and the annual audit. Presents financial reports to the Board and at the AGM.
Director at Large
Represents the general membership interests. Chairs at least one standing committee during their term.
Advocacy & Government Relations
Monitors legislation, builds relationships with the TDA, THA, and Ministries, and prepares formal submissions on behalf of the membership. The principal vehicle for TTSRA's policy work.
Standards & Best Practice
Develops hosting guidelines, the TTSRA Quality Mark, educational resources, and coordinates with platforms on policy matters affecting T&T hosts.
Finance & Audit
Reviews the annual budget, oversees the independent audit, and monitors financial controls. Chaired by the Treasurer ex officio.
Communications & Membership
Manages the digital presence, member communications, the Founding Member campaign, annual events, and the member directory.
Tobago's voice is
protected by law.

TTSRA's Constitution enshrines protections for Tobago's representation that cannot be removed without a special resolution of the membership.

Permanent Observer Status

The Tobago Chapter Representative holds a permanent non-voting observer seat on the Board — present at all meetings regardless of election outcomes.

Island-Alternating VP

By convention, the Vice President is drawn from the opposite island to the President — ensuring both islands are always represented at the top of the organisation.

AGM Rotation

The Annual General Meeting rotates between Trinidad and Tobago each year, making the Association's most important event accessible to members on both islands.

Hosts are partners
in tourism.

TTSRA advocates for fair, transparent regulation that recognises the economic and cultural contribution of short-stay rental hosts — and that ensures our sector can grow sustainably alongside traditional tourism.

We engage constructively with government agencies, the Tourism Development Authority, the Tobago House of Assembly, and regional bodies — not as adversaries, but as stakeholders with a shared interest in a thriving T&T tourism sector.

Licensing & Regulation
Advocating for a fair, workable licensing framework that recognises the diversity of short-stay rental operations across T&T.
Tax Clarity
Seeking clear guidance on VAT, income tax, and reporting obligations — so hosts can comply confidently and plan their businesses.
Tourism Recognition
Ensuring short-stay rental hosts are included in national tourism strategies, visitor economy data, and tourism development planning.
Platform Policy
Direct dialogue with Airbnb, Vrbo, and Booking.com on policies, fees, and support that specifically affect T&T hosts.
